Hi All --

 -- Life is settling back down after the trip to Portland for General
Assembly.  What an uplifting experience! There were many excellent speakers,
inspiring ministers and lay leaders, 5600 UU's meeting and singing together,
new music, good discussions and exchange of ideas, even the "business
meetings" were educational and not really business at all, but more about
visioning for what we want UU to represent in the larger world. The budget
report was less than two minutes long to inform that the national UUA is in
the black.

 -- The 2009 GA is relatively close to us again -- in Salt Lake City -- if
you want to start thinking about the possibility of attending this amazing
gathering of UU's from across the nation.

 -- The Eclectic Readers Book Club will meet at 7:30 on Monday, July 9th, at
the home of Mary Nordhagen, 630 Dearborn, to discuss Hanna's Daughters.
